Frequently Asked Questions Hammond, Louisiana

  • Do you give free estimates and quotes?
We will send you a free quote to strip your parking lot after we get the information about your parking lot striping needs.
  • How long will the estimate take to finish and send?
We strive to complete estimates within 48 hours.  We aim for a 24-hour turnaround, but   If we need to survey your property, it may take a little bit longer.
  • What is the cost to re-stripe my parking lot?
Prices vary on what needs to be done to your lot.  We price our quotes based on linear footage for the fire lanes, yellow lines on stalls, white lines, or any other lines.  Our handicap stenciling, access lanes, bollards, wheel stops, etc. are a price per unit.  We try to figure the proposal using aerial photos and software that allows us to measure your lot using those photos.  We also can visit the site if needed.  Sometimes we can’t get a good picture of the site and then we will come out to the site.

We do have a minimum charge for pressure washing and striping a lot.
  • Do you offer discounts or coupons?
We offer new customer discounts and church discounts throughout the year.  Check our website regularly for discount opportunities.
  • Can you give me a definite time when the project will be completed after the quote is given and accepted?
We will schedule with you, a good date and time when we will be at your site.  We will always let you know of any changes in the schedule.  Our business is also dependent on the weather, so, keep that in mind.
  • Can you stripe the lot when the temperature outside is cold or rainy?
When the temperature is too low, the paint doesn’t flow well.  When it is too windy, there is too much over-spray.  When it is raining or wet outside with wet concrete, the paint will not stick.  So, dry warm or hot days and nights are the best time to stripe for the best results.
  • How long does it take for the paint to dry once applied?
It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes to dry.
  • I received a visit from the Fire Marshal today.  I have a deadline to have my fire lanes up to code.  Can you meet my deadline?
You should usually have about 30 days to comply.  Give us a call as soon as the Fire Marshal comes to give us an ample amount of time to give you an estimate and schedule your job to stripe the fire lanes.  We will do what we can to get your job done on time.  Most Fire Marshals are understanding when they know you have already received a quote and are working with a striping business.
  • Where can I find out about the Fire Lane Requirements and City Building Codes?
City fire codes are generally based on the International Fire Code, as published by the International Code Council.  Search for Hammond Fire Lane Requirement to see their codes.
  • What are the requirements that I need to stay in compliance with?
ADA (Americans with Disability Act) and local codes which include City Building Codes in regards to fire lanes.
  • Does your company provide and install Handicap Signs?
Yes, we provide and install handicap signs on buildings or posts.
We offer many other services such as speed bumps and wheel stops and more.
  • Do you stripe lots all over Hammond, Louisiana?
Yes, we do.  We may have to add a trip charge to projects that are further than 25 miles from our home office in Cordova.
  • Can you stripe my lot during non-traffic hours as to not interrupt my customers or homeowners?
We will work around your schedule.  We schedule work 24/7 to ensure that the parking lot is empty.  We also will work on the weekends.  If your business is never closed, then we will do what we can to work around your customers.
  • Are there any certain steps that I need to take to get ready for the striping to be done?
You will need to notify your tenants or customers of the day and time that the striping is scheduled so there will not be any unattended cars in the lot.

The paint will need to dry for 20 minutes.  Ask them to not drive over any freshly painted areas.

Ask your customers to not park in the areas that are going to be striped.

Make sure the grass or landscape is neat along the curbs that are going to be painted.

Turn off sprinkler systems overnight and for the duration of the project.

If the lot has a lot of dirt or loose gravel, the lot should be swept before pressure washing and striping.

We will also need the location of the water source that we can use during work. We will need that for pressure washing.
  • Why do I need to pressure wash the parking lot before it is striped?
Having a clean surface enables us to provide a durable finish and a quality job.  We will use a 4000-5000 psi turbo pressure washing system to strip away grime, dirt, and any loose old paint.  This makes a surface for the paint to adhere to.
  • How often do I need to re-stripe my parking lot?
You should stripe your parking lot every one to two years to keep your property looking fresh and clean.  Your business will have a professional image and you will be laying the groundwork for a durable job that will look better for longer.  When you strip the paint before the paint has the opportunity to peel, you will be laying down good paint over good paint, building up a durable stripe.
This also depends on the usage of your parking lot and the weather of the climate that you are in.  If your paint has started to fade or peel, then it is time to restripe your parking lot or garage.
